SURGICAL SITE INFECTION AFTER CESAREAN SECTION IN UKRAINE: RESULTS A MULTICENTER STUDY

The aim: To obtain the first national estimates of current prevalence rate SSI after CSEC and antimicrobial resistance causing pathogens in Ukraine. Materials methods: We performed a retrospective multhicentre cogort study based surveillance data was conducted from May 2017 to December 2019. population consisted all women who had cesarean section 11 regional hospitals Definitions were used CDC/ NHSN. Results: A total 2 326 operations 14.7% identified within 30 days operation. Of these, 44.4% superficial incisional SSI, 28.9% deep 26.6% organ/space 25.7% which classed as endometritis. cases 70.5% infections detected post discharge. most commonly identifed pathogen Staphylococcus aureus (23.5%), Escherichiacoli (20%), Coagulase-negative staphylococci (8.1%), Enterococcus spp. (7.7%), Pseudomonasaeruginosa Enterobacter (6.4%), Streptococcus (5.6%). overall proportion extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) production among Enterobacteriaceae 18.3% methicillin-resistance S. aureus(MRSA) 13.9%. Resistance third-generation cephalosporins observed 15.2% E.coli 7.9% Klebsiellapneumoniae isolates. Carbapenem 7.3% P.aeruginosa Conclusions: results this revealed high rates associated with resistant antibiotic stranis. This knowledge is essential develop targeted strategies reduce incidence postoperative infections.
